Art Of War
Physical & Digital Magazine Publication.
Introducing Art of War, New Zealand's leading Combat Sports magazine. Centred on showcasing local talent and events, with highlights from prestigious international shows like UFC and One Championship. Our mission is to bridge a crucial gap within the burgeoning New Zealand combat sports community while establishing a central hub for its members.
The project involved developing a distinctive visual identity and brand for the magazine, curating and producing pertinent content, designing the magazine layout, and crafting digital content tailored for various social media platforms.
The Process
-
Ideation & Wireframing
During the project's inception, extensive ideation was undertaken to refine both the concept and the initial magazine layouts. Although this phase was challenging, it served as a crucial framework for shaping and conveying the narrative envisioned.
-
Page Layout Process
Once the preliminary concept of the magazine took form, I proceeded to develop a digital prototype to enhance the refinement of the website's direction.
-
Page Layout Process
While this phase involves making semi-final decisions, it remains highly iterative. I continually adjusted layouts and text sizing to ensure accessibility and readability were prioritized.
-
Digital Presence & Advertisements
To imbue authenticity into the project, I pursued two approaches. Firstly, I crafted a digital identity by creating social media content. Secondly, I curated advertisements to feature within the magazine, predominantly selecting brands synonymous with fight culture to align seamlessly with the publication's theme.
